Developmental Editing
A developmental edit focuses on the structural building blocks of your book—plot, character, pacing, and so on—in order to bring your work to life for its intended audience. You will receive a marked-up manuscript accompanied by an editorial letter offering an overview of my suggestions for revision. This package also includes a one-hour follow-up phone call to answer any questions, gain clarity on my comments, or discuss your ideas for approaching your rewrite.
Line Editing
Line editing is the process of polishing your book on the sentence level. I’ll review the manuscript for flow, clarity, word choice and syntax to ensure that the audience has seamless reading experience, all while respecting your unique authorial voice. While this is not a copyedit, which focuses on specifics of grammar and continuity, I stamp out typos or errors whenever I spot them!
